Life After Death

Life After Death

A Poem by Sira YR
"

Heaven, as described by a dead man.

"

The smell of earth wafts up my cold, tender nose

The intense blanket of silent darkness suffocates my glassy eyes

The feeling of slime and nicks overcomes my pale, grey  hands

As worms

And ants

Trail

Over my dead flesh

Is this that promised land

Of milk and honey

Where I stand at heaven’s gate

Waiting

For Blessings

I have no room to receive?

Is this that promised land

Where Jesus rested

Oh, so long ago

Where I shall have all I desire

And reunite with my family once more?

Is this- this cold dark space

Where my flesh rots in the rich soil

Where my bones decay

Till I am nothing but dust

Then nothing at all…

Is this heaven?

No, not at all

If this is heaven, then I'll stay right here lol. Constructive criticism is encouraged and requested as always :)

Raysira,

sadly, teachings of Heaven and Hell and Eternal Life are mythological fairy tales kept alive and burning in the hearts of mentally conditioned and programmed mankind by those who profit from the power they hold over the masses of blind faith Sheeple-People who live and die at their beck and call, eager to give their lives and money for the deception they have been taught to accept as truth ...

If there is awareness of existence in the grave, you have painted the imagery of such a plight very well and very realistically, somewhat similar to a piece I wrote a year or so ago where my grave enslaved person had been murdered by a serial killer, titled, Peering Out My Worm Worn Eyes ...

Personally, I have serious doubts that there is any awareness beyond this life, at least, none that can be proven as such, and so I will not teach my children tales of Eternal Life so our government and religion can use such malarkey as a means to make them brave in facing death in battle, or believe that they shall see loved ones again once the opportunity to spend quality time with them here in this world is gone ...

Your heart has penned a poem that is well done as a fine example of a mind that is well on its way to exploring, perhaps learning, the art of Free Thinking ...

It's dark so naturally I like it! lol But you kept it a sweet innocent tone to it.

I loved the take on death you used here. A raw look that came out beautifully!
