As the Guild King longs for a hard fought peace, his enemies strive to bring unrest to the delicate power balance in the kingdom. All the while, the Prophets desperately seek to silence their foes.
I liked how the orcs are made to come across as more human than not. I felt that was a good twist to the standard model taken by many authors. Overall, you've got a good set of characters.
Personally, I felt that the story was dominated by character dialog and might have read a bit deeper and smoother for me if there had been more description. But that's just my own tastes in fantasy novels. =)
Wow, I actually enjoyed this. It's great coming across good writing every once in a while. I'll be honest though, the subject doesn't really interest me. I wouldn't buy this book, but I'm sure it will attract the attentions of others. :)
(Orcs, fairys, elves, dwarves, etc. turn me off, but that's a personal preference and opinion. So don't take it personally. :) )
Take care,
