Moonlight and RosesA Poem by PANTHERThe meadows of the valley are fragrant with spring's bloom.
Yet in the distance I see mystery, where the mountains loom. I cherish all the days I spend in nature's sweet surroundings. My mind has thoughts of ventures, I find them so confounding. In the moonlight and roses, content with all that charms. Why then do I long to be, somewhere in someone's arms. Wind sings songs upon the peaks, their sound is so alluring. Eyes that pierce the draping mist, I find now reassuring. So spread my wings and open heart, I will begin that climb. To make what dwells within my thoughts, really truly mine. I feel the wind and I see things, I never knew existed. Looking at life's passages, they soon become quite twisted. I feel her arms, see her smile, her words echo off the cliff. With each kiss and in each touch, widens now a rift. The words belied by actions, the smile still the same. It seems in mountains' mystery, my love plays out her game. The rocky path that we are on, is but one path she's taken. Beliefs and dreams I've had before, all now seems so forsaken. For what there is I could not discern, from the distance looking in. I've found up close and personal, and this knowledge is a sin. I tell you not to venture forth, I tell you not to dream. I tell you what I've learned in life, things are not always as they seem. I can not go back I can not stay here, I must place these things in past. I must continue, live my life, find a dream to last. By panther811
