Mermaids' RunA Poem by PANTHERWith the mainsail set and the jib run full
set to sea I did For there are treasures there with flaxen hair and for one I will bid Wind blow me straight stars set my course the briny beckons me The tales I've heard bout a mermaids' curve will draw me undersea There's a stalkin moon peerin through the clouds lightin up me chart And the dancin sea lookin up at me twinkles lite within this heart The breeze not only fills the sails but sings to me a tune When we fall away you will come to stay afloat on love's lagoon Bound away on the ocean's waves headed toward the sun Ship and I just slide on by makin time on mermaids run Thoughts they please and then they tease like the pennant flappin on the mast They say here she is and then there she goes how long did you think it would last But the bounty of the timeless sea has give me this chance And who's to say with a mermaid play and you'll not find romance The stories go and the sailors know not a sea nymph's been a wife So I look around and then I say what else is new in life By panther811 © 2013 PANTHER |
