Fille de joie

Fille de joie

A Poem by CAPOLAVORO
"

I wrote this one for a girl that I knew. She told me the story of her life and how she became a prostitute. The transition would be from the last part of the story upwards.

"
Sometimes when you hold me I want to say stop
But the cry of my hungry child
In my mind would always pop up

Sometimes when I crawl under your skin
I am in great disgust
Could you blame me?
My parents sold me to you
And this is the result.

Sometimes when you watch my body on the screen
I feel within me pain and shame
A nameless monster you are who likes playing a game
Could it be true?
My parents are in my back forcing me to show it to you.

Sometimes when you put force on my legs
I want to shout
but only tears would fall out
You're my father
but my innocence you slaughter
Now I know I will never be the same daughter

Sometimes I look at the other children going to school
I feel jealous
"Mother, let me go too."
She said we only have money for eating
Don't be selfish.

Wow. I don't "like" this at all. You paint a sadly real situation very skilfully and evocatively. Good work!

This take us to very dark places. Parents who sell own child to became prostitute. Attidute man forward to prostitute is realy something horrible. They think for money they can get anything. How low and stupid. I hope this person from poem is save now.

Yes is great poem. Is very good you make this one.
This is heartbreaking. A beautiful write though. You have done a marvelous job putting the reader in her shoes. A lot of people think of sex trafficking as mob/gang run issue.. I don't think people truly realize how truly close to home it can be, and what it really means for the victims.

I hope this piece gets more attention.

Thank you so much Sk.
Indeed a sad tale and one we all cannot see as we strive to buy our new iPhones. The was she reflects back in time was to a degree successful as it gives just that impression as she is in the present with her child thinking back to how she arrived at that equally place.
