River of Blood from the RosesA Poem by C.A. Lucas
A river of blood
Runs through the garden It brings color to the roses Blooming near the bank The green grass is saturated By the blood as pure As the white of snow Blood that will stain the snow One drop will soak through Every snowflake and create Color Light will have a chance Light has no chance with darkness White, too, is an enemy It confuses light It bounces it around Color will allow light To have a life And thrive in the world In the garden With a river of blood Flowing for the light
