Seasonal Moods

Seasonal Moods

A Poem by C.A. Lucas

Sunny skies and red shoulders
Under the glistening water
Melodies that are so sweet
My, they lift me off my feet
Elegance and good times
Recuperation is needed

Ashes swept away by the wind
Umbrellas will protect us from the sleet
The ashes hide burnt leaves
Underneath the stripped tree
My father lit a fire
Night is coming soon

Whirling snow spinning
In the never-ending sky of white
Nestled in a cave, we eat
Trying to occupy ourselves
Ever-lasting night, that's
Right

Silence breaks
Piercing whistles of the birds
Ring throughout the green world
It has ended. The world of white
Never to come again- for a while
Gifts and dreams, they come for spring
