The Power of LightA Poem by C.A. LucasTears of confusion Stream down my face hastily It’s a delusion Pain has taken me Everything is ugly Jesus, help me So, Jesus did An inspirational spark In front of my eyelids Look out the window There’s a mysterious light Makes my beauty flow The bright light blinds me And for a moment I see Pure, bleeding beauty Color returns, now My body feels soft and light Dry tears are rainbow The evil shadows Have now left my bright bedroom Now I have no foes I see from inside Seven-thousand butterflies They don’t want me to hide One by one they flew in One by one they picked me up As light as a pin Butterflies of light And Jesus himself Awoke me in night They carried me far Illuminated insects Away from the dark I was oh so high Above the clouds I soared Then they dropped me from the sky I fell for a while Afraid of nothing, only fear Then I hit a pile A pile of my own All things held dearest to me But they didn't matter… I had flown! © 2012 C.A.
