The World Where Everyone Looks Down Into the Dark

The World Where Everyone Looks Down Into the Dark

A Poem by C.A. Lucas
"

People are always the ones to look up at the majestic light glowing above us. This describes the world where the big light looks down upon us.

"
I am human
So are you
You wouldn't be reading this
If it weren't true.

If you are a person
You look up to a light.
(I do too)
Think of what it might do.

The power that we see
The power that we feel
Looks down at we
Whose ignored what's real

The real truth
Is that other beings
Have souls too
Attention that we're not paying

And it's not just a ball of light
It's a whole world
It seems so bright
With our bodies coiled

Our society tells us
That looking to the sky
Means we're curious
Means we can fly

Haha, idiots.
Do you even know?
There are beings up there
Whose laughter shows

We feel it when there's thunder
And an earthquake, too
That's when we've blundered
Done something we'll rue

They point and scream
They forever stare
It's like a dream
It isn't fair

No, it isn't
While we are stupid
They are intelligent
We're like kids

But not only are we amusing
We are fascinating
For the one thing
They don't always need

Is love.
And while they shout.
While they may chortle
The snickers are snuffed out

Their eyes grow wide
Their ears turn on
They don't want us to hide
They can't see love if we run

But I just wanted you know
What may look like a spark
What makes our cave glow
Is the world
where everyone
looks down
into the
dark

I really want your comments. There is a certain feeling that just makes my day when I see at the top of my computer screen a little piece of paper and a pencil (without a green arrow). I <3 it! So please. Thanx :)

Regardless of how well the emotion strings everything together, I'm not sure I like the placement of the components of this poem. I feel that your mind was racing with far too many thoughts that it is capable of, though I know your heart is in the right place.
