HelloA Poem by C.A. LucasThe girl in the rope was finally named. Her name was Hope. She was acclaimed."Hello," I said. "Hello," was what peeped out. "What's your name?" She shrugged. "What's yours?" she asked. "Chloe." "Nice name." "It's okay." "It's great." "Well thank you." "You're welcome." "Why don't you have a name?" "I don't have parents." "What happened?" "They died." "I'm sorry." "That's okay." "How can it be okay?" "I was a baby." "Did you run away?" "From where?" "Your home." "As a baby?" "No. Did you go to an orphanage?" "Yes." "Then. Did you run?" "Of course." "I ran too. Just now." "Well, I'm glad we're in the same boat." I smiled. "Me too." Later on we took a walk. It was the only thing to do. Besides, of course, talk. All her stories were true. She taught me a song It was happy and cute. It wasn't long. And she played a flute. I loved the nameless girl. She was so divine. A good name was Pearl. No, Sunshine. Representing the hope That I felt When I saw her in the rope Behind the shelf. The girl in the rope Was finally named Her name was Hope. She was acclaimed. There was a pink sky Enough peace to keep She wasn't shy We laid down and fell asleep In the morning I woke up with a start I instantly started mourning For my broken heart My best friend The girl behind the rope Our friendship without end Ended. My Hope was gone. I closed her eyes. I wept for her. Everyone dies. I covered her in flowers. The grave I made Was not right Nor was the trade I made that night. My Hope was gone. It was all wrong. Her life was done. I played her song.
