A Night

A Night

A Poem by C.A. Lucas

I'm in the black
I don't need the light
It only shapes things,
Adds color I don't need

We're back to back
With no sight
This is the beginning
And I'm ready to feed

There is the creature
He's right here
We only need collide
Although there is fear

It is merely nature
And despite the fear
We both decide
We've come too near

Too near to resist.
Controlling one's fate
May seem wrong
But still I lurched at him

And we kissed.

this was a great job, I especially loved the first and last stanza, the imagery really drew me in and the ending was quite a treat, the rhyming really worked for me too, you created an easy flow that connected with the reader. keep writing you have a blossoming talent.
