Unintended LoveA Poem by C.A. LucasEnd of an autumn day I decided to leave home I felt a powerful urge to stray I strolled under the gloam. I hummed my tune I sang my song I gazed at the moon I walked along. Nothing was right Because one thing was wrong I needed a light In this world that's so strong. My light had to be Somebody to hug Who will never flee Be there to snug. To save my life In a time of need In a desperate time He will always heed. What I had to find Was him. I know I was blind, But I did not want it. I was content without Another human being For him, I did not scout Being alone was freeing. Call me a fool But boys aren't cool In the high school Girls rule, boys drool. So I kept walking Searching for anything Anything but him. Humming and singing. Then I saw another figure Strolling in the darkness It was him, I was sure I couldn't help but address. I said hello He smiled and waved He looked into My eyes and saved. His eyes were blue Even in the night They stood out, true I'd found my light © 2012 C.A. LucasAuthor's Note
