Zen mastersA Chapter by C.A.JordonRenji is in town and strikes Boken with out warningThe bell rang so they made
their way to class leaving the jocks to fend for themselves. The jocks finally
got up and dusted off their jeans. “He thinks he can just punk
Lucas Kendra Adams? That freak show has another thing coming.” “That’s poetic Luke almost
like a song,” said a jock that looked like he got tackled on too many times he
thought that way as well. “That’s because it is Bruno,”
said another jock that was slightly more intelligent. “You don’t gotta’ put it that
way Kenneth,” Bruno responded. “Enough you Neanderthals we
need to focus on the game that’s coming up,” said a jock that just had the scent
of academic over achiever coming off him. “Torrance has a point we will
get him back one day but we need to work on practice. Let’s bounce for now,”
Luke demanded as they head towards the football field. Broken and Rachel were off to
the park doing their own thing as usual. It was starting to get dark. “I should
escort you home so an incident like last time does not repeat itself again.” She clammed up while she
grabbed his sleeve. “Thanks Boken if not for you I would have been violated in
the worst way.” “There is not a need to think
me. I cannot just watch somebody in trouble and do nothing. I will never do
that again.” “Well aren’t you cozy in your
new little hole. Just like that you forget all about Ryoko. Never thought you
trade an assassin for a Groupie,” called out a voice that Boken all too well
recognized. The bandage wrapped around Boken’s sword as Boken instinctually
guarded. This stranger ran at full speed and drew a metal sword. The aura
glowed green but the other sword had a red aura. Rachel at this moment
realized the man he was facing was a Zen master of flame. “Renji what are you
doing in America brother?” Rachel then also realized upon hearing the name that
this was the Renji that had attempted on Boken’s life, his own brother. The two brothers had distinct styles of sword play. The other brother, Renji used both hands. His right knee was bent as if he was kneeling. The left foot was angled to act as an anchor to support his weight. His first strike he held the sword above his head. He struck with two hands and shifted his weight to the front. This would not only use his full strength but also with the added weight. This would have been a powerful strike. Boken on the other hand, he held his sword with his right hand. The force of the attack had him on one knee. He held it up his right by crossing his left arm on the back of the right that put his left hand closer to his chest. He then used a burst of strength to push Renji away. Renji went for a right cut. Boken moved his sword with both hands to defend his left side. After the sword struck his sword again he repelled the blade and did a back flip. Renji tried to get him with a thrust. While in midair Boken stuck the sword down. This knocked the sword off axis and it crashed to the ground splitting concrete. Renji pulled it up. Renji performed two handed swing he released a small wave of flame.
Boken landed and unleashed a small wave of green angry that resembled glowing
leaves. Both of the waves connected, the waves exploded in spirit energy.
There was a thick cloud of dust; Boken was still in a defensive stance. When
the dust cleared Renji put his sword in its sheath that was held by a black cloth
belt. Renji looked like a character right out of a manga. He had red hair tied
in a ponytail. His eyes were orange like a blazing wild fire. This would entail
he had a temper, where Boken was six foot he was about five-nine. Besides the
hair he looked totally Japanese though you could tell he was mixed, his eyes
were only slightly squinted, and he had a cocky smile the type a smile a bandit
would bear in on of Rachel’s manga. the hilt was orange with red cloth. His sword was a Kotetsu
(basic sized samurai sword) it was not a short sword nor, was it a long sword. Before
he in cased in again. It had flames etched on the edge, the hilt was red with
yellow diamond shaped openings that would bare the handle, He had these pants
that almost looked like a long skirt. “You can drop your guard now
I just needed to see if you were ready.” “You are the one that taught me never to lower my guard Renji!” “Damn straight, on the other
hand I’m not the one who’s here to kill you.’ “Whatever do you mean Renji?” “Ryukai is here along with
three other Zen masters. He still thinks that you were the one who bought that
opium from the Takeda. Then again he probably has his suspicions he just needed
an excuse to kill you; the one named after our late big brother. I do have a
question for you Kenji? “What is that?” Boken asked wrapping his blade back up. “Why did you take the fall
for me? You could still be there having the time of your life with the kendo
club.” “ you are my brother that is why i took the fall.It doesn’t matter if we are
blood or not. You are still my brother Renji. I did not want you to be the one
that was disowned.” “That sounded just like something he would have said…
before he was murdered” “Who was murdered, Renji” “It was ten years ago maybe
one day I’ll be able to tell you.” “Hmmm, than I shall drop the
subject” “Anyways as I was saying he
got other Zen masters. One of them is that annoying playboy Kazejin Aeroku the
wind Zen master, another is that idiot who is completely loyal to Ryukai
Banzenshi Genrou the Zen master of earth, and…” “Who is the third Renji?” “Umiko Muusa-Ichi you know,
Ryoko’s sister.” ‘So she still hates me for
not being able to protect her.” Rachel saw the expression of
despair that flooded over Boken’s face. She flashed back to when she caught him
say her name under his breath. “By the way Boken, who’s the
broad?” This is my friend Rachel
Aimee Carson. She is father’s biggest fan.” “Well I’ll be damned, I didn’t realize. You’re one of our
best ‘donators,’ he said putting his own quotes above his head using his index
and middle finger above his ears. “That is his term for nerds,” explained
Boken. “Oh, and one more thing; Ryuukai is going to lead the group. He is a
fire Zen master,” Renji said. “Um, what exactly is a Zen master? I understand
you have powers over one of the six elements of Bushido. Which are fire, water, earth, wind, wood, and
steel? What exactly do you do to become a Zen master?” asked Rachel with the
deepest curiosity. “That’s in accurate, but the fact you know that much proves
you’re a fan of our father’s fun facts. A Zen master goes to a school of
warriors that date back since the samurai era started. Zen master have
knowledge of all six elements. It is a two years class depending on the skill of the warrior for example Boken
here graduated in as little as three months. on the other hand basically we must master all elements of Bushido. when we succeed we have to make a pact with a Kion, a spirit of nature. once we make this pact than we can specialize in an element. Boken chose wood which was nontraditional of the Bomaru family and i chose fire according to tradition. you see Boken doesn't like to hurt people so he chose wood. © 2011 C.A.JordonReviews
