The Night Everything Went Bad

The Night Everything Went Bad

A Chapter by Luke Butters

It was dark. I couldn't see a thing. All I could think about was getting away. My wrists and ankles were cold and clammy and it felt like hands holding me down with an iron grip. The rest of my body was freezing but not as intensely cold as the spots on my wrists.

I begun to feel a dark sense of claustrophobia setting in. I could just sense a mess of creatures trying to get a lick at my face.

I sensed movement in the corner of my eye. It was then I realized that I was moving my arm. There WAS something on my wrists. It felt cold and metallic. They dug into my skin more when I moved.I suddenly realized where I was. The cold metallic rings around my arms and legs, the cold air wafting, the smell of chemicals.

I was in a laboratory. If I was in the laboratory wouldn't I be a lab experiment? If so then where was the scientist?

I tried to move again, the restraints dug deeper into my skin. Then suddenly a blinding light filled the whole room as the lights simultaneously turned on. I was right. I could see beakers on lab benches and machines hooked up to me monitoring my vital signs.

There was a sharp pain in my chest like someone was trying to pry my rib cage open.

I screamed.
