Smiling Evil

Smiling Evil

A Poem by C.D. Dalton
"

Do you judge by appearances or how people appear? Beware that the world is full of illusions and things are not always as they appear.

"
There once was a man whom often smiled,
And his arch rival whom frowned.
The first man was really quite mild,
And the other was often quite wound.

Great riches came to the man of charm,
But not the truthful man whom was called a liar.
Though the man of charm was a man of harm,
And brought the burn of fire.

Smiling… the man was abruptly revealed,
And threatened with a loud holler.
The fire was sought the evil was sealed,
By the frowning man of water.

With a great sweep the evil went down,
And there it was left in a pile.
For great good may hide behind a frown,
And evil … a smile.
