The Curse that Killed the Kennedys

The Curse that Killed the Kennedys

A Poem by CSK

Art of chaos, art of war,

Give the ones you will adore;

Play the game but reap the price,

Follow now and don’t think twice.

Swallow freedom, bottle pride,

Cynicism you’ll have to hide;

Play the ace against the jack,

Karma will never get you back.

No rebuttal, no remorse,

Soldiers lost, but so much worse;

Land of freedom, home of brave,

They’ll send your life into the grave.

Save the soldier or save the man,

Fly the flag all you can;

The colors fly the lasting state,

Its people used as blinding bait.

Lucky to be one already dead,

Those alive be drenched in red;

The only ones who know what’s right,

Drowned into the endless fight.

Mindless men made up as clones,

Barefoot across the stepping stones;

Stray away, sir, if you will,

Or go in for the final kill.

hmm, smooth, hard-hitting read of a sad, unfortunate reality. no one really wins in war because lives are too precious and can't be replaced. power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. amazing what money can buy but everything has consequences. nice piece ... :)

trying to stop the Vietnam War...withdrawing troops...nope, no good...they didn't want him to do that...so he paid with his life so we could get someone else in there to rescind the withdrawal of 250,000 troops...
no more Camelot...and then when his brother tried to run...oh no, no Kennedy...he, too expunged from the scene...Bobby was shot on my birthday and died the next day...as I was graduating high school and mourning the loss...I was finally old enough to vote and was excited to follow him.
and with Jack...we saw Jackie "drenched in red" her pink outfit smeared with his blood.
this brings back very intense memories and loss.
