Can you?

Can you?

A Poem by C K.
"

I was actually wondering, because I never see adults doing what kids do. like, ever. They never look happy, do they.

"

I know that you've grown,

I do know.

We all change

It's normal

It's ok.

But I have some questions.

Do you still get that high,

when you've laughed too much

and you lose yourself

and you can't stop yourself

and neither can your friends

for at least an hour

on and off?

The hysterical joy.

Do you still get that?

Do you meet people once

and find them that astounding

and amazing that you smile to yourself

at the thought of them.

You talk about them for the rest of your life.

Those people. Those fantastic people.

Do you still meet them?

Do you still get caught up in pictures

or songs

and find them so ground-breakingly

stupidly stylish and gorgeous.

That you sort of don't want people to see them

because they won't get it

but it's so f*****g beautiful

you have to show everyone anyway?

That one stunning thing.

That whole new love.

Do you still get to feel that?

Can you still feel so fleeting

and useless, but so invincible

and brilliant and strong

and light and helpless

even if you're as worthless as this?

So powerful but so temporary

and ridiculous but marvelous.

because inside you're dancing

and screaming

and you are angry and lonely

and lost but you're not gone.

Because you know you can do it?

Can you still feel that?

Do you remember?

here goes :) now you're only two away.
this.
is.
good.
its a poem that actually means something to other people, like how adults these days (cos like, in the 90's, they were alot more chipper) are all boring and spend pointless amounts of attempting to evade their mundane lives-- instead of 'urghlifefucksexarghh' they're ok in small doses, put y'know.
but THIS is fresh.
nice one kelly, you're well good.

i put even more effort into this one, so FEATURE IT.

this reminds me a lot of one of my favourite songs "all my friends"
this poem is so beautiful and sad.
as we grow older we lose touch of what we once where and try holding onto the memories even if its time to move on.

So powerful but so temporary
and ridiculous but marvelous.
because inside you're dancing
and screaming

incredible descriptions and word choice.
amazing work.

I LOVE the repitition, and the layout and the last line; and the start and middle and ending and the rest.
Nice one (Y)
