Marionette

Marionette

A Story by Kiriko

I have always adored puppets. I love their solid midnight black eyes. These black eyed puppets lay strewn across my room. Slumped over on each other. Their arms and legs are fragile from lack of use. Their once beautiful hair now sprinkled in dust. Even my favorite puppet Aetos was fallen out of his chair, now slumped over Kyoko. I had no time to mend to their cracks and dust the the dust. I was working on my newest creation Cassius.

Instead of my usual black eyes. I decided to use crimson. One of the deepest reds. I am linking the arms to the shoulders and the legs to the torso.

“This puppet, it's missing a heartbeat, how can I have a friend, that doesn't have a heartbeat? Wait, what I am I talking about? Puppets are no more than merely an lifeless work of art. Nothing more! How silly of me to think a puppet could actually have a heartbeat!” I exclaimed.
