He...

He...

A Poem by Kristen Liles

I'll wake up at the break of dawn

And kiss you in the morning sun,

I never knew the Sun could kiss the Moon.

I'll pick a petal every day,

And say that it is you I love.

A days work done I say 'I do.'

How lovely your eyes are in Paris.

How lucky you are to me.

I'd cherish every moment with you,

If I knew it was real.

How sweet your lies taste on my lips.

I can hear the laughs of everyone.

I know your secrets now.

I'd hoped every laugh would buy me,

Just one more moment of your time.

I realize that you are an ocean.

Taking me in, pushing me out.

Drinking my sin,

Bury my doubt.

"I love you.."

"Hate you too."

Why won't you say 'goodbye'?

Please get out of my life.

I don't want lies so sweet,

I just want your mind.

Validate the thing you hate.

I'm not mine.
