Love is like an oak tree

Love is like an oak tree

A Poem by Kristen Liles

Love is like a grand, old oak
Its roots flow deep and true
It's leaves change with the season
And its branches reach far and wide across the heavens
Love stands tall for everyone to see
Like an old oak
Love can last forever and ever
And everyone can look upon it,
As they do an old oak tree,
In awe and utter wonder
Love is like a grand old oak tree
And my love
Is no different
And just like a fallen oak tree
Love, is severely crushing me

Bio:
Kristen Nicole Liles lives in a very small town in Spring City, TN. She spends almost all of her time writing, playing with her beagle pup, Sadie, and saving pennies to attend a massive performing arts school in New York City. Kristen also loves to listen to music and plays her flute. She doesn't play many sports but if yoga counts then she is really quite athletic.

I like the logic of love and the tree. I have used the tree often in the poetry for love. I enjoyed the story in the poetry leading to the sad ending. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

You are very welcome Kristen :)
I like the comparison between love and and oak tree. The spender when it is alive but the crushing feeling when it dies. It is something everybody can relate to.
Well done
