Weeds Grow in Beautiful Garedens

Weeds Grow in Beautiful Garedens

A Poem by Kristen Liles

Sometimes weeds grow in beautiful gardens.
You can till the ground,
You can have the best soil,
But sometimes weeds grow in beautiful gardens.
The flowers from your garden,
Could win first place from anywhere.
Or put even the most experienced gardener to shame.
Yet sometimes,
Yes, sometimes,
Weeds grow in your beautiful garden.
But you continue on,
And you pull them out,
And no one around you can tell the difference.
No one could believe that you could have weeds
In your beautiful garden.
You have been pulling and plucking and tilling for so long
You have become incredibly strong
But, because sometimes weeds grow in your beautiful garden
You have become tired of pulling away only to find more weeds
In your beautiful garden.
But you never give up and you always prevail
Because you know
Yes, yes, you truly know
You are not alone.
You know that sometimes
Weeds grow in beautiful gardens.
In everyone's beautiful gardens.

Very nice poem Kristen - gardens can look beautiful even amongst a few weeds - it's almost impossible to keep them weed free! A nice analogy on life and the way we live striving to be good people but struggling with sin :)

What a great piece of poetry. The comparison that come to my mind while reading was how the weeds in our beautiful garden is our own negativityinsecurities either physical or mentally and how we try to eradicate them or hide them. But no matter how hard we try they are always there. And the last line really made it universal.
The following saying came to mind after reading this piece: "We are perfect in our imperfections" cause sometime even the weeds can make a beautiful garden even more beautiful.
Thank you for sharing this I really enjoyed reading it.

Thank you for such a lovely and kind review. I greatly appreciate it
Very nice. We all have weeds in our garden. As my favorite writer wrote, "It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see." - Thoreau Sometimes we have to forgive ourselves as well as others.
