The House of C

The House of C

A Poem by Brandy Griffith

Specks briskly dance off the crucible.

They are tiny, yet so dominant.

What is within caused the boiling sting

in the Organ that is so prominent.

No way is what entered positively,

the reason for what is coming back Out.

Pay heed to your past surroundings,

and the riddle, you’ll eventually figure out.

Gone are the smiles that greet the day.

They are Replaced with the eerie fluster,

the bland, the disgust, and the convulsions

that continuously desire to putter.

Like dominoes, we All go down

one by one until there is None.

Getting through this is our goal.

But till then, in this house, C has won.
