Leaving

Leaving

A Poem by Broken Hearted Faux

My mind wasn't in the right place

Everything seemed a blurr

As my hands feverishly started to pack

My suitcase open wide on the bed

Her hands folded around my arm

As she looked at me with tears in her eyes

"Where are you going?"

I had to bite my lip, look away

"W-where are you going?"

She repeated the sentence again

I shut my suitcase as an answer

And a whimper arose

"You're leaving..."

The words pierced me

I nodded and held back the tears

As she clung to me

She buried her face in my chest

Fingers like spider legs on my wrist

As they danced there

And she whimpered again

"You promised..."

I nodded to myself

Though her question was retorical

"Why..?"

Again, I had to advert her gaze

Green eyes boring into me

I was a loss for words

I nearly bit my tongue off

Then her soft lips hit mine

And the instinctive took over

Arms wrapped around her

Held her

I couldn't argue any longer

The kiss was salty

Mixed with her tears

As she broke it

Rested her forehead to mine

"Dont....go..."

It was a beg

A plee

I nodded again.

Pushed my suitcase to the floor

Cupped her face

Kissed her nose

"Never again."

Her smile shone through

As we sat on the bed

The morning shone through

"I love you."

She smiled warmly

Green eyes rimmed with red

But bright again

My smile was sad

As I held her to me

And rocked her

"I love you too"
