Blue Eyes and Black Lashes

Blue Eyes and Black Lashes

A Poem by Butterflymom
"

In memory of............dead butterflies and desperado's

"

Blue eyes and long black lashes,

Butterflies and desperado's

Stir hidden places deep inside of me.

Butterflies die when their wings are pinned down

And desperado's just ride away.

I've never been one to crush such creatures

Or hold on past it's time

But GOD, I've enjoyed the BEAUTY,

And over the elusiveness I've cried,

and felt unknown grief and the hearthache

of watching a captured one die.

I love this piece; I was captivated by your comparisons of Butterflies and Desperadoes. What a unique combination. I like the way this flows, and it is so full of emotion. I will send you a peer review in a message with some suggestions, but over all this is a great poem.

Lovely. Simply divine. The anguish over watching a dying butterfly is rich as honey. I wonder though what the connection is with desperados?

Short and powerful. I really enjoyed this, and your capitalizing the key words in the poem is a good visual cue. And another lovely ending.... probably one of my favorites from you.

Your piece made me think on killing and the uncountable
creatures and humans slain just for kicks and kicks rationalized
in some insane way.

Excellent poem,
Jack

Well done, absolutely beautiful,
After reading this, the phrase "If you love someone set them free" came to my mind,
But what do I know?
