WakefulnessA Poem by Butterflymom
The dark flashes and wild repressed thoughts of the day Come out to haunt and to play Thoughts begin to race Horrific images drop by to keep me awake It's unbelievable what goes on in my head Manicky ramblings and lists of things I need to do My energy swirls and I'm hyper-awake Too tired to go downstairs or get anything done I hit bottom when the light peeks in the window Then I'm too exhausted to stay awake I spend the day sluggish as hell Until I climb in bed again at night When again the dark flashes and weird repressed thoughts of the day Come back to haunt and to play
