FacesA Poem by Butterflyflutter
The voices of children scamper around, like kites in a windy sky.
I stare at my arms, yearning to open in the sunshine. My feet cry to run over wild, untamed grass. To touch that aspect of life. And bring alive the wilderness inside. Being born into a system and trying to fit in its terrible spaces, makes me forget that I'm a human being. Who somewhere longs to hear the voices of the night. And feel the secrets of the universe shower upon her soul. In today's world, we don't have kings upon thrones. But the biggest power, whose subject we are to so hopelessly, is society. Denying it is called as madness. But I believe in the other way round. Not following our natural instincts, as they curl around and hug our consciences, paves way for darkness. Darkness is not hate, envy, greed or guilt. They the repercussions of the only sin in this world, and that is not allowing the God-kissed spirit to dwell in us. Bravery is the potion to evergreen happiness. A thirst to be only and only yourself. Even if all the voices scream and numb your desire for fitting in. I don't want to fit into something if for that I would have to change my essence. It's better I die with solitude, rather than be surrounded with everybody and still be floating inside a bubble of loneliness. Because in the end, the only face that you would have to recognise is of yourself. And you would want to love that face, right? © 2016 Butterflyflutter |
