This Ones For You

For anyone who has suffered or struggled in life- you are not alone.

This one’s for you:

This is for the ones who have been broken

Silenced now with words unspoken

This is for the ones beaten and abused

The ones whose hearts were scarred and used

This is for the ones who fight to live

Inspiring, is the strength they give

This is for the ones who have no home

Cold and hungry no place to go

This is for the poor and the oppressed

The ones whose lands are in unrest

This is for the innocently taken lives

The ones with wars burnt in their eyes

This is for the ones striving for education

Though faced with daily degradation

This is for the ones with no family

While sadly watching others living happily

This is for the stolen and the raped

Longing to see heaven’s gate

This is for the ones who live in pain

And the ones who think they’re plain

This is for the orphaned and left behind

Longing for a token a word so kind

This is for the ones whose mirror show no beauty

Media leaving them feeling gloomy

This is for ones who don’t know their worth

Questioning why on their own birth

This is for the ones who can relate

To hurt, pain and self-hate

You are all beautiful you may not know

Like a tiny flower you will surely grow

Push out of the darkness and the earth

Reaching for the sunlight you’ll be re-birthed

In order to be as beautiful as you are

You had to wade through darkness, like the flower

I hope that someday you’ll see the beauty you have inside

Your hurt will fade away and you’ll be filled with pride

You have come so far through it all you've been

Strong and courageous, you will win

Take a moment to think about the good you are

And know that I am praying for you from a-far
