FirefliesA Poem by *~*Butterfly Kisses*~*Memories of love and another broken heart.
The midnight sky smiled brightly, Upon the trees swaying in the moonlight. Gentle breezes whisper from the shadows, This will be one night to forever remember.
Gems shined along the horizons of the Earth As glittering tears fell from universal skies. Telling a tale all their own of distant memories Held within a trail of flames falling behind them.
I stared forever into your blue velvet eyes, Searching for an answer to a common riddle. Love's burning temptations, reoccuring dreams Can I finally consider you mine?
The galaxies of us intertwined For one moment inside your tender kiss. Fireflies fluttered about around us, Flickering endless sparks as my heart sank.
I captured each moment of you, And locked them tightly within a jar. As you walked out on my heart, I wished upon a star for you to return to me. © 2012 *~*Butterfly Kisses*~*Author's Note
