Together Again

 

 

 

Love, dreams, and darkness

Collide in a cosmic burst.

Longing to be in your arms again,

In world that I once called home.

 

A million dollars in coins,

Thrown down a wishing well.

Velveteen hopes and thoughts

Diminish with a small splash.

 

Minutes and hours go by,

As the ticking clock comforts

Lonely thoughts and broken memories

Swirling in the abyss of my own mind.

 

I patiently wait inside my burning heart

When reality's nightmare shall fade.

Someday I know we will meet again,

We are all just a dream in the end.

 

Author's Note

Somewhat inspired my Evanescence's Together Again. I'm not so sure I'm satisfied, but it was a attempt to jump start my brain.

Great pathos all over the poem, it was very intense !!
First 3 stanzas are characterized by a very dark and sad atmosphere though, fortunately, last verse gives a glimpse of hope working just like the "light at the end of the tunnel" :)
