I Hate Love

Tired of these blowing winds,

Blowing heavily in my direction

Causing me to fall so deep into the abyss of love

Once more poisoning my heart in bittersweet bliss.

 

Beautifully scented words like a rose,

The sweet smell of aromas that linger

Arousing my senses as I fall...

While I desperately hold onto my dreams.

 

Caught in a web of ecstasy and paradise,

Innocence overwhelms me again.

I open the envelope of my burning heart

And let myself go, opening myself to you.

 

You have stolen the spirit of me,

Burying my hope and dreams in your kiss.

My thoughts that this could be a miracle drift

Perishing in the shadows of my aching darkness.

Amazing, good idea of developing the poem as a love story in which every stanza symbolize a step of it, hope it makes you feel better the fact you're feeling what great poets before you (and i bet there will be others after you) have already felt, romanticism made us "get used" to the idea of "hating love" but that's something we can find from the origins of society, memorable is Catullus carmen 80 in which he says "Odi et amo, quare id faciam, fortasse requeris? Nescio, sed sentio fieri et excrucior" (= I hate and love, how i do that you may ask me? I don't know but i feel it happening and i suffer). I really appreciated the first stanza in which you blame the wind of making you fall in love, that's curious because that's exactly the same entity Dante blames for it, in fact in Dante's Inferno, lust sinners are carried one against the other by an unstoppable strong wind that symbolizes the same one that made them fall into this sin when they were alive.

why would someone hate love?? :)

perhaps it is because love makes us experience the most wonderful thins in life. it overpowers us, changes our very souls and makes our lives worth living. it is so strong that we can't even think of a word to describe it. yes, that's the only way we could hate LOVE. ♥
