On The Wings of A Dove

Inspired by a dove on the window sill of my apartment in NYC, building a nest.

If you could only listen to my heart

Singing its own tune

I often wonder what you would hear

As if it had a voice of its own.

 

Beating softly spoken secrets

Whenever you're on my mind.

The fluttering thoughts

Of what our love really became.

 

Gone, but never forgotten

As my pen scribbles to it's own beat

Reminiscing word that were never said

How much our love really meant.

 

I'd send my words to you, wherever you are

All on the wings of a dove,

To have one more moment to cherish

And be in your arms once more.
