Russian Roulette

Russian Roulette

A Poem by *~*Butterfly Kisses*~*

One bullet to the head....

That's all it takes
As I watch the six-cylinder spin

Like a pinwheel blowing in the wind.

Lost in a trance as it spins,

A life that spiraled out of control.

Out of the light, and into the darkness

Reality - the freedom to let it all go.

I think for a moment asking the same questions

This wasted excuse for a life, did it even matter?

Playing a sick and twisted game of love

Where I always feel like the loser.

Tempted into salvation,

A everlasting sensation - thoughts of death

Lingering above me like a black cloud

Calling my name from the shadows.

One bullet to the head...

That's all it takes.

As I watch the six-cylinder spin,

Slowly it stops and I pull the trigger.

Author's Note

*~*Butterfly Kisses*~*
I kept hearing the term "like a game of russian roulette" all week in school, so I decided to write something about it. Might use this for class.

Wanted the ending to be kind of open-ended for those that read it. I hope I succeeded with that. As always, I am open to suggestions.

You leave us hanging .. not knowing if this sad soul found peace ..
R.R. is a game for someone who has nothing to lose , and wants maybe a last thrill ..
Still suicide is no game .. I have sit with many, who attempted , but failed ..
And their pain, only worsened .. .. .. this write feels real .. and desperate .. and leaves me chilled to the bone .. ..

When the pressure gets too much and the outlets limited....a person may well bring his attention to the spinning of a cyclinder. Nice write Cherie!

I love this! It's totally dark and macabre, but in a weird way it shows light.... if that makes sense at all =P Great job

I am not familiar with "Russian Roulette"
But I can clearly picture it because of your descriptions here...
This is an awesome poem and a soulful one.
I can feel the pain of being heartbroken. But I find it wrong that death is the solution for that.
thanks for sharing this poem! :)

Russian Roulette was given life in the movie "The deer hunter." Would be a dangerous game. I like this poem. I could feel the emotion and the thoughts of the gun and the six-cylinders. Thank you for the outstanding poem.
