I Walk Alone

I hate sounding redundant, but if you know anything about me even the slightest bit, this seemed to have come out easily.

 

I walk alone down this lonely road

Only the sound of your angelic voice

Whispering the sweet sounds, you once sung

To help guide me through a lifetime of agony.

 

This void in my heart, charred and diseased

Burning forever in the realm of regret

I was not there for you,

Every day you were there for me.

 

With every sleepless night

Tossing and turning, trying to forget.

Haunting shadows reliving in the moments

It gets harder to live this life without you.

 

Forcing myself to move through it all

As the memories play out like a movie.

Sweet dreams turned to monsters

Constricting me from within nightmares.

 

My heart frozen in the dead of winter,

May the angels hear my desperate cries.

Only heaven above knows you are never far

As all this hope leaves my haunted soul.

 

I walk alone down this lonely road

Icy tears glistening in the moonlight,

Stumbling through the misty black and grey

Where you were once the colors of my world.
