Destination Unknown

If you ever had the feeling of what you were doing and where you belong in this life, you'll understand this. My thoughts and feelings lately.

Lost,

In forever's nothingness.

Shadows of my weary loneliness

Taunting and teasing at my well-being

But in some way keeping me company.

 

This yearning feeling tugs at my heart strings

Wanting and needing to be somewhere

And wondering if this place I feel the need to be

Even exists within this lifetime.

 

I'm finding it hard to get there

As I walk this boulevard of broken dreams

Alone, as the questions of how long will it be

And if I can make it there alone

Swirling and twisting within my mind.

 

I find comfort in my quiet surrounding

As the clouds begin to open wide above me

The rain splashes at everything it touches

Showering me, and hiding these broken tears.

 

It has been such a long road this far,

So much more traveling to be done

Soon, I know time will reach me there

To my destination unknown.

I can really relate to this poem. I love the way you conveyed how you feel, and sort of bring hope in the end because we all will find our destination, eventually :) Also, haha, Boulevard of Broken Dreams, that part reminded me of the song lol

I really like it. I think this is something we all experience, in our adolescent years, that rocky, tumultuous feeling inside, the sense of discombobulation and...lostness (for lack of a better word xb) I can't tell if this is what you intended it to mean tho. which is really really cool. Love it
