Burn Away

Lost in the illusions,

of forever and always.

Promises you've made to me

Whispers lingering in the dark.

 

It might be better

For me to believe in nothing,

Rather than believing in anything at all

That may not exist at the touch.

 

Images burned within memory

Fiery passions sparkling flames,

Written letters on blank pages

Decaying blackness into ashes.

 

 

Burn away all the yesterdays

Floating softly in the winds of time

On bated breath I will soon forget

And watch it all fade away.
