Country Girl Heart

Country Girl Heart

A Poem by *~*Butterfly Kisses*~*
"

Feeling a little home sick :(

"

Living in this concrete jungle,

I am lost in the forbidden truths

As I hold my memories of home

Pictures framed, engraved within my heart.

The blackness of the night sky

Witnessing the masterpiece of the Gods

Diamonds filling this poet's imagination

Getting lost in the wonder of it all.

Wild horses galloping and trotting

Leaving trails of dust and sand behind

Forgotten in their liberties to be wild and free

In a world all their own, my country home.

Running and spinning through debris

Of the wildflowers as they flutter with butterflies

In the warm breezy winds to unknown places

Wherever the wind may carry them.

The mountains in the distance soared
With the birds, building high up to the heavens

Where I would hear the echoes of loved ones

And all the surrounding sounds of nature around me.

This raw beauty of stone and steel

That I have been waiting to witness for so long

Compares to no other place I know

In my country girl heart.

There are some things we are born with whose beauty is already spoken for in the way that it grew in us. Then there are those where we do some growing up with, to be a part of our experience. The heart and the mind, one to live with, the other to figure out, how. Nice write!

I was born in a small town with plenty of country and though spent most my life in a bug city my heart will always remain there. Lovely poem.

I grew up in a rural area far away from any kind of civilization, and as a teenager I really wanted to move away. Mostly because I was frustrated with the lack of public transportation, which made me feel trapped. Today I would definitely still be frustrated, but I've realized how much I miss the peaceful solitude of that kind of place. Unfortunately the place I grew up doesn't hold any particularly good memories, so I'm not inclined to feel nostalgic, but I grew up close to nature, and life in the city definitely lacks that kind of wild freedom.
It was easy for me to relate to this piece.

I grew up in the city .. Never wanted to live in the country .. But I can see how one would long for the beauty of a country home ... Life takes us to many places, and we learn to enjoy, and find joy wherever we may be .. .. The key is finding the "heart" of you ...

I like ! .. Jazz

I grew up every other weekend in the city and every other weekend in the country, so I had the best of both worlds. I would have to say that I loved the country the best. A wonderful piece!
