The Book

The Book

A Poem by *~*Butterfly Kisses*~*
"

Another one of my deep in thought kinda writes.

"

I have filled these pages,

With the joys and distress

Of all my yesterday's

No reason to live in regret.

From my own birth,

Til this very moment I have lived

Treading through the darkness

Forever engraved upon my memories.

Tearing away the pages,

Written of bittersweet romances

Only to be rewritten by another piece

Of my heart that has been taken from me.

Grief and loss have filled these eyes

Swimming in the ideas of madness

My own imagination, I soar the skies

Instead of drowning in the sorrows.

Many dreams that have washed ashore

Coming into a clear reality, taken for granted

In the sleepless nights that I have written

My thoughts and tears - my life is a book.

Black ink never runs clean,

There is always some story to tell

Until the end of my days have arrived

Regrets are none, and I will live for now.

This is done extremely well. Life is a book. We write the chapters and every single page within it. it is fun to look back at writing to see how things have changed and moved different from how I thought it would be. The last two stanzas are my favorites.

Always a story to be written. Sometime we learn from someone else sadness or happiness. Can create the desire to write. I like the ending a lot.
"Regrets are none, and I will live for now."
Thank you for the excellent poem.

This is impeccable, extremely well written. You capture perfectly how you write new passages in your life and the way you've portrayed it as a book is brilliant.... No other words to say about this other than mesmerising

absolutely beautiful, the lifeblood of the poet is exposed in these wonderful lines.

Beautiful. An introspective expression of victory. We all experience the bittersweet as you describe it, and it is easy to wallow and grieve. Not only is it easy, but necessary up to a point. But, it is only when we accept the bittersweet rather than regret it, and allow ourselves to move forward, to soar onward in the immaculate present, that our true character shines through. Thank you.
