Always Darkest Before DawnA Poem by *~*Butterfly Kisses*~*Awakened by my own restless mind Too dark to seek out the off switch And turn out the lights on these dark thoughts Killing me softly in the early hours of each night.
Restrained is my soul, from the heartless hearts Each moment of broken and silence melodies I have sung for all this time through my years Frozen in time, being relived once more.
Jaded inspiration of demons echoes Within the shadows playing within these walls On nocturnal wings of hopelessness and lonely Curtained in the silky remnants of the cobwebs.
Clearing the dust, picking up the pieces Of remains to be shown and carried on In the small glimmering light from the sun Shining just beyond the horizons.
Crimson scars of my newest wounds, Healing softly as the day starts to break Reborn into a brand new day, It is always darkest before the dawn. © 2011 *~*Butterfly Kisses*~*Author's Note
