Digging My Own Grave

Digging My Own Grave

A Poem by *~*Butterfly Kisses*~*
"

Get out of my brain!

"

Small stones of concrete

Lives lost and some forgotten

In the darkened airy mist

Graveyard of past memories.

The perfect place,

The perfect spot

Pieces of me

Six feet beneath the ground.

Creatures of the night

Maggots and flies gnawing

At the tiny remains

Of my agonizing existence.

Hatred for the wrong

Liars and thieves

Taking everything, stealing

The innocence I once felt.

Swollen and tired hands,

I have worked too hard and long

Shooing away the flies

To forget these broken memories.

As I dig my own grave tonight

Broken memories will go forgotten

Stuffed within this coffin

Mourning the innocence you stole.

I will force myself to forget

The hatred that boils in my veins

Here lies my aching heart

Dead on the inside, its your fault.

My goodness...This poor soul is carrying one serious cross.
The darkness and regret in this poem is of paralyzing fear.
