Aphrodite

A bit of an ode to the beautiful greek goddess of love and desire.

Born with golden locks

That shine in the midst of sunlight

Rising out of raging seas

To bestow a sense of peace and serenity.

 

A lead into temptation

With a blunt force of eternal love

Shooting from the airy skies

Like from cupid's bow and arrow.

 

Constricted in a loving embrace

Neverending battles rage

Within humanity's lust for war

Bathed in streams of bliss.

 

A stunning vixen,

Of beauty and desire in human form

Whispering winds of lustful words

I like who you've described her in the poem. Aphrodite has never been my favourite Greek Godess because although love is warm and kind; it has an ugly side to it and love can make you feel things you've never felt and never want to feel again. But you also reminded me that Love can sometimes be a beautiful thing. Over all great job.

Aphrodite is one of my favorite character in the myths. She protect and allow love to have strength over violence. I like your description of the Goddess. Her beauty made the most evil of men feel the warmth of love. Thank you for the excellent poem.
