Til Death We Part

Til Death We Part

A Poem by *~*Butterfly Kisses*~*
"

Inspired by a true love story that brought tears to my eyes.

"

In this hospital room,

Fit for you and for me.

Only so much time for us

Before in heaven we will be.

Reminiscing the life we shared

So much time we've spent together

From the day that we first met

Til our marriage, for worse or better.

A car crash sent us here,

As we continue holding hands

A love that lasted a lifetime

Stated with our wedding bands.

We've held on to each other

Through the thick and the thin

Beautiful memories

And the places we have been.

Now our time is growing short

On my monitor, beats your heart.

As we slowly start to fade away

In our promise, til death did we part.

Norma and Gordon Yeager, of Iowa were married for 72 years until a car crash put them in the hospital. They've always had a special love, always holding hands with one another. They recently passed away 1 hour apart from each other, still holding hands. Gordon passed away but his heart monitor still captured a beat through Norma who passed away shortly after. I usually discourage simplicity, but in this piece, I believe it's required. Sometimes, the most tragic tales can be depicted in the shortest of lines. It requires talent to be able to pull it off well :) You, my friend, have done it!

My heart broken yet at peace with this story, but as I believe we do not part in death, I feel they had held hands as they crossed over together to the other side, They were able to do what no one else has,. They made death an experience together. And they say everyone dies alone. this piece is hope. Wrapped up in a powerful hartfelt package.
Once again
beautiful my Anna Rose.

A beautiful piece, it exemplifies what true love between soulmates should really be.

A sad, but wonderfully inspiring work of art.
