Eternal

I was exhausted when this came to mind.

Love is eternal

A bond you cannot escape,

An unending romantic journey

That sweeps you off your feet.

 

Succumbing to the poison

Inside of cupid's arrow

Follow your heart

Inside the hands of one another.

 

Almost like a curse

Bound in an eternal embrace

Shackled and chained

Each other's loving heart.

 

Storms will rage

As the fires of desire burn

Thunder rumbling with excitement

A spark of lightning in love strikes.

 

A love that is so precious

A dream world,

In an awakened state

You never want to escape.

 

Rain may pour,

Causing an ocean of flowing tears

Drowning in the pain

Of a heart's raging storm.

 

But remaining together,

Holding closely dear

A love that can last forever

A love that is eternal.

To drowned within love is so much better than within a down pour of tears, love the metaphoric use of nature and the elements to make the pain evident to all whom read this poem.
