Haunted MemoriesA Poem by *~*Butterfly Kisses*~*Next chapter of my darknessI barely understood this word Beneath the frozen earth Looking for an escape, freedom.
Shadows playing in the moonlight Taunting me with their dances Upon the walls, filled with torment As I am haunted by the memories.
Laughing inside my mind, My demons, of pain and emptiness As I am kept hidden and locked away This blackness I hold within my heart.
Cockroaches and bugs Crawling upon the floor, my skin Their only crime - hunger As I knock them all away.
Screams and shattered glass A father who never wanted to be Filled with the toxic posion of life And alcohol flowing in his veins.
Purple and blue, my holy bruises Drenched in my own misery The blood of my childhood remains Stained forever among these walls. © 2011 *~*Butterfly Kisses*~*Author's Note
