A Quick Trip Through WonderlandA Poem by *~*Butterfly Kisses*~*Not my best, I suppose. But it's my favorite childhood story.Take a quick trip with me, Down into a rabbit hole Where things barely make sense In the reality world But where imaginations are filled With many impossiblities Making sense only In the eyes of a dreamer.
Tick tock, goes the clock As a snowy rabbit passes us by Running late for some unknown date Disappearing as we venture deeper, Into a land filled with the unexpected Nightmares and dreams at every turn.
Purple ghostly eyes at a glance In the curiousity Of one bewildered cat Stalking us through our deep adventure Like he's searching for some prey.
A short little smoke, Of second hand smoke From a certain riddling caterpillar And to add to the riddles of this wondrous land Two silly twins we're sure to find. As we ponder at their intellegence, They must have smoked some funny thing But with their curious hilarious antics and quarrels They are sure to make us giggle.
Traveling deeper into a land of curiosity Into the blackened forest we roam, Where mushrooms soar as high as the sky We see a huge dining table and gathering friends.
A dormouse tempting us with tea Celebrating a very unhappy birthday For a peculiar hatted man, Reveling within his own dark mind As he leaves a question or two in our heads.
The red queen of too many broken hearts As she revels within her misery. So much time she spent looking for love, It's one of her greatest mysteries. To be loved, or to be hated, I doubt anyone will ever know As she miserably sits upon her throne We run, as she shouts "OFF WITH THEIR MORTAL HEADS!"
Dragons soar the vast open skies, So strange since we're beneath the ground. But what a sight it is, indeed.
Our journey is nearly over now, As we try desperately to return home A special white queen so full of kindness Helping us find our way.
What a shame to return to reality But what an adventure we've had Into a world where dreams collide As we return to our plain old mortal lives.
A lesson to be learned, Always follow your heart You'll never know the adventure You will find.
But one more thing before we part, An answer remains to be found. Why is a raven like a writing desk? A question forever lingering within our minds. © 2011 *~*Butterfly Kisses*~*Author's Note
