Music of My Heart

My pen sways to the music

My thoughts in lyrical form

The sweet and bitter notes

In the melody of my heart.

 

Sometimes,

My heart wants to rhyme

Sometimes,

It just doesn't want to.

 

Writing about past loves,

And broken memories

That have left some cracks

Within my fragile heart.

 

A past that is over and done

Loves that are ancient artifacts

Once in awhile, I will dig them up

And share them all to the world.

 

Perfectly orchestrated,

A symphony of dreams and ideas

Mixed genres within my memories

In the music of my heart.

kind of inspired by a review that said they preferred rhyming poems.

beautifully done, in the first stanza i would consider replacing the adjectives with musical terms such as "consonance and dissonance" or if you know music theory and how to use these terms correctly "perfect fourth and tritone'

"in the music of my heart" I love that line. So true that poets feel those moments of love present and past and chord them, chisel them in stone. Very nice poem.
