California Dreaming

California Dreaming

A Poem by *~*Butterfly Kisses*~*
"

Almost forgotten memories of love.

"

I remember the days we spent

On some other distant world

Purple and pink clouds

Floating beyond boats

Just over the horizons.

Our feet welded in the pearlish sand

As our hearts beat to every wave

Crashing amongst the shore

Those days, when we were in love.

I've spent my last few days

Lost in our memories we've made

Trapped inside a bottle

Now floating to some place unknown

With our bittersweet "I love you's"

Echoing inside my mind.

The palm trees even bowed

Like in a strong wind

As I got lost in the agony and extasy

Of your soft hands moving all over me.

My thoughts of you are screaming

Like the gulls flying in the breeze

As I dream of our days spent

On sandy California shores.

You will forever hold the key
To my heart, now yearning for you

Your memory, locked in a treasure box

I will forever hold these memories

Of you.

The picture looks a little bit like Pacifica Pier near San Francisco, I used to fish there for salmon as a youngster, but now I mainly stay there in the RV park when I'm visiting SF for a couple Giant's games in a row..

loved the poem, thanks for bringing back some very special memories spent up and down highway 1 along the coast.. hitchhiking up and down this special roadway, discovering life and even a little bit of myself along the way..

The idyllic and the fondness in an embrace with each other when promises were bright and the fulfillment close by. A search that commences with a knowing sense of a secret kept safe, with an eye for the play, that circles back to itself, in an affirmation of the truth of a past joy. A great write!

I like this poem. The California coastline was the best days of my life. Thank you for the field trip in your words. I like the description and the very good ending. A outstanding poem.

Such sensuous , loving , tender
memories. The nostalgia of
a lost lover. Sad and exciting
at once. More please.
