Butterfly Kisses

Butterfly Kisses

A Poem by *~*Butterfly Kisses*~*
"

true story

"

I wandered in my garden today,

Admiring the palette of colors

Mother nature has bestowed upon me

Giving me the chance to see.

Flowers still trying to keep their colors

Before the cold weather finally arrives

Then its off to dreamland

Until spring approaches once more.

A butterfly fluttering sweetly,

Landing upon my hand

I wondered if it was you

Smiling at me from a far.

I wish to have you back

But I'll always remember what you've taught

If you catch a butterfly,

Whisper a wish, and set it free.

This poem is tender. It is delicate. As delicate as the butterfly you speak of...The grace that I have come to associate with your writing is felt here as well. The emotions seem so fragile, like they would break at the slightest hostility that comes their way....Favourite lines here:

"Then its off to dreamland
Until spring approaches once more."

and

If you catch a butterfly,
Whisper a wish, and set it free.

The last ones, especially in the context of what is said before them, bring the poem to a magically soft conclusion. Beautiful write!

so pretty and light. There's a small hint of sadness in there as well...almost longing. Don't know if that's what you were going for when you wrote it, but I like it. It gives it something more than just a pretty poem. It gives it character. Very nice job.

Yes, set it free and let it live out it's most precious life of only seven days. Such a beautiful creature shows us so much if we sit back and think about it. You have captured the romance, the beauty and the importance of life through this poem. I love it.

Butterflies are a symbol for deceased persons, and their strong spirit... throughout history, and have a huge shivering factor and quality, I think. I love them, as you write this so lightly beautiful and divine. There is always a clue. Thank you.
