I'm sure many people know about the attack on the Federal Government and a protest being called "Occupy Wall Street".
I personally think this is the start of a new revolution for America and the world, as new protests spread all over the place. People are starting to wake up and realize this country is being run the wrong way and there doesn't seem to be anyone caring or trying to fix it, but us.
We have stood silent for so long that we actually let this happen and are now trying to get back what is rightfully ours. Our freedom. The reason why this country was made and matured by our founding fathers. It's about time WE THE PEOPLE stand up tell the government we've had enough of their shanigans. Too many people are suffering while the government spends our money freely and spends that money to invade another country ever year. Destroying other countrie's citizen's lives in the process. It's not fair to have other people not even in this country and allowing them to suffer or most of them die because of our advanced technology and weapons of war. We are becoming terrorists ourselves while trying to fight a war on terror. And I just don't see how that is right.
Politicians is just another word for lying scumbags and they are disrespecting us. We must put them in their place and tell them they are not doing what they were elected to do. We need to speak out and stop being silent. Join the protests. Use your art to speak out. Anything to get involved - It's time for some SERIOUS change. Whether you're republician, liberal, tea party, or democrat. I'm sure we are ALL facing problems in our financial lives. No matter how you look at political world, no matter where you may live - we must stand together and unite.
If no one is going to save us then we must save ourselves.
While I don't agree with all your points in your argument, I do totally agree that "WE THE PEOPLE" need to do something. I feel that something is called: Voting. I have traveled and do still travel from time to time and I meet a lot of different kinds of people who I usually end up talking to about life, God, struggles, the economy and the life. The one point that shocks me is that only a small percentage of folks who are eligible to vote actually vote. The second problem is related to the first and that is APATHY. Too many downcast eyes and not enough people willing to BE the change.
This was a great piece and it should spark some great exposition. I loved the fire with which you wrote this. Nice work.
When you actually go down there you see that everyone is down there. Liberals, Conservatives, Tea Partiers, Communists, Libertarians, Professionals, Unemployees, Grandparents, Veterans, Teachers, Students, brothers and sisters from all walks of life.
Truly, a big factor is also in the "party politic-ing"
Capitalism is just is what happens when Rich people Get rich and get fatter while the poor people suffer, and the middle men, well some stay in while others get the shaft.
Not anyone's fault but their own for supporting such a system, and most people even within Occupy WallStreet don't understand THAT basic factor, but instead needlessly shout to bring down corporate control and Wallstreet's seemingly monarchy like way of influencing things... Until there's another way to support Democracy I see the protest as being anarchistic, because by cutting off ties to corporate you kill capitalism which kills the basic standard economy, which I don't mind if there was actually a number of people within the group acknowledges that... of course, anarchism at this point for a country like this would be very destructive and pretty pointless being that all that would end up doing is allow for other countries (China for example) to just take the place of reign from the U.S.' government...
Of course, anarchy is a dirty word to most people, but to me it's much less scarier than a Dystopian nightmare, which our present day systems promote (hence police brutality example)... anarchy to me is another way of saying Freedom to the maximum, although too much of a good thing is always potentially dangerous so I do rather governments much more than I imply, just rather smaller ones, much closer to that which the constitution of the US was originally suppose to govern.
So being that unless this protest was a worldwide event against government monopoly, corporate greed, a lifestyle's based upon capitalism, then all this protest is a little bit of a kinda pointless stage antic. But needless to say, the idea behind such an event is thought provoking towards the subjects of which I just mentioned.
ummm, so if you really are looking for a little bit of a better something, the best advice right now is do your research on Ron Paul... as a political junkie that's the best advice I can give at the moment.
Also, most of you money problems lies in wallstreet, that's one thing the protest has right... for example the reason gas prices are so high is because of the commodity market. As for invading other countries, well, what to you expect from a greedy super power nation? sit on their hands? we see cheap oil and minerals (ex: libya and elongation of MiddleEast war), take it while the going gets good is basically the motto most politicians in DC go by, everybody loves the easy way out. can't say it's morally right, but it's smart if done right, however I reject the idea on the fundamental basis of it being a stretching arm of a Superpower nation to spread an empire (my dystopian ideals reemerging).
so to save you from the continuation of a long rant, by all means, support Occupy Wallstreet, Anonymous, Wikileaks, and etc. but don't think it's gunna do alot of good for it's gunna take a hell of a time to get the world running properly.
