Help, I'm Alive

Help, I'm Alive

A Poem by *~*Butterfly Kisses*~*
"

Written a long time ago when I first got out of the country and moved to the city. Inspired by one of my favorite bands, Metric. Hope you enjoy it.

"

Trembling breath of fear,

They're going to eat me alive.

In this city, too big

For a small country girl like me.

Many doors that I must open,

Pathways to unexpected changes.
Which one am I open,

When they all look the same to me.

If I stumble, who will catch me?

As the echoes scream inside my head.

The future feels so distant,

But my fearless heart still beats.

The skies are the limit,

See how far I'm willing to fly.

Touch the edge of the universe,

Help, I am alive.

this is nice... a good one though.
we all are afraid sometimes when it comes to changes..we're afraid that no one might be there for us when we stumble..no one to turn to..no one to talked to when we need someone to talked to..
but sometimes our fear is the one that gets us through it...

i like your poem.. it's nice:) keep it up

It's cool how you go from fear to braveness,
the theme is very interesting, your point of view is incredibly curious for me since I've always lived in big cities, it's nice to see it written by a country girl :)
Cool poem :)

Being over whelmed just stinks. You're forced to except what is and can't really do anything to make it easier. Nice job.

In my opinion...at times it is every living moment that is filled with... >.> I had something in my head to write down here, but in my senile moment it slipped away. I think I was going to say that sometimes it is more fearful to live than anything else, but it doesn't really look right when I write it down. Anyway...I treasure your style.

This peom reminded me of my wife. She went from a very small town to the big city and I am sure the adjustment was hard. I love this piece, if not just for the gift of memories of a long ago time. I thank you for that.

Once I read the title I made the connection with the song... An excellent way to compare.. and to make a song into a poem.. Awesome write! :)
