Emerge Stronger

Emerge Stronger

A Poem by Bushra Naqshbandi
"

An effort to help people get over their heartbreaks and try to see that they're special and deserve to be happy. :)

"
People tell you it happened for the best.
They counsel you to get over it.
As if acceptance comes so readily...
Or getting over it is so easy...

You might take a huge amount of time to heal -
Dont't hesitate. Just give it to yourself.
You'll feel an overwhelming urge to shed tears -
Don't hold back. Just give in to the emotion.

All I ask is, don't ever give in to despair.

Instead of dwelling on why you were left,
Think about why you shouldn't have been left.
Instead of missing them all the time,
Try to see what they're missing without you.
Instead of weeping over them the whole day,
Laugh just once everyday at their stupidity in letting you go.

It's okay to be vulnerable because of what happened,
As long as you take small steps each day
To emerge stronger than ever.

Interesting, that redirecting our focus and therefore redirecting our response, will influence our tomorrows. Some may travel many diverse paths to find the road home. We share the journey with those we love, as we also share their journey. When they journey to the great beyond, part of us moves away with them. It is a wound, requiring care against infection. Sharing is the key to refilling the void.
